Customer Service

Milford Municipal Utilities serves most of the citizens of Milford with electric and water services. Applying for service is an easy process which can be done by phone or in person in just a few minutes. We will gather some personal information from you to set up your account and ask that you and anyone over 18 living at the location sign the service application. If you have previously lived in Milford and have an unpaid balance, you will be required to pay that balance prior to receiving service.

Deposit Requirement

We require a deposit for electric and water services to guarantee partial payment for services if they were to not be paid for some reason. The electric deposit is calculated as the highest electric bill in the last twelve months. An estimate will be used if the location is new or has not been occupied recently. The water deposit is $75. This will be required to be paid prior to receiving service. The deposit will be returned to you as a credit on your final bill or after you have established good credit with us by paying 11 consecutive bills on time.  We reserve the right to require this deposit at any later time if we encounter any problems collecting the amount due on the account.

We offer automatic payment of your bill by bank ACH or credit card charge. The transaction is processed on the due date of the bill, which is the 20th of the month. We will need your bank routing number and account number if you wish your payment to come out of your bank account or card number, three digit security code and expiration date if by credit card.
